Introduction
to IOT (Internet of Things)
These days, explaining of IoT in one sentence seems nearly
impossible. The term IoT is new but its concepts has been around for decades.
So, therefore there is no clear boundary what IoT is simply a world where the
internet has just became everyone’s first priority, but in real world it is a complex
network of embedded device.
In short,
“IoT is
a system of physical devices that can be discovered, monitored controlled or
interacted with the other electronic devices which in turn communicate over
various networking interfaces and eventually can be connected to the wider
internet.”
Today our everyday objects could feel the world through
sensors for e.g.,- our smart phones, smart watch, smart home appliances etc., each
device analyse, store or exchange information in the same way as was described
in various science-fiction novels. It’s like a story is becoming a reality.
A special thanks to the progress in embedded devices that
brought us into a world of new class of objects.
Smart things are a physical objects that are digitally
augmented with one or more of the following -:
1) Sensors
2) Actuators
3) Computations
4) Communication interfaces
Sensor - There are variety of sensors available in the
market like temperature sensors, light sensors, motion detectors etc.
Actuators – These are the basically electromechanical
devices like displays, motors & etc.
Computation – It can run programs and logic.
Things in the IoT can range from a simple tagged products
such as your “amazon package” with Auto Id tag (automatic identification
methods )
like bar codes, QR codes, NFC and RFID attached which can be tracked from the
shipping centre to your doors, to a more complex and wireless connected
products such as security systems for your home & office.
IOT simply enables us to access and process things by using applications
through internet, with a software which is basically called a cloud and is
depend upon the type of platform you were using.
Bolt IOT is one of them. It is a unique IoT platform
which is capable of connecting and controlling devices over a network easily.

Conclusion:
It’s a myth that a thing that is isolated from entire world
can perform better but in contrast while connecting them over a network we can
harness the power of smart connected brains.
We just need a single application layer protocol for devices
and our applications to talk to each other, Regardless how they are physically
connected.
